Welcome to February, the shortest month, but last full month of Winter! January was intensely full of transitions. Here at Cedar River Yoga, we took the first month of 2025 to reflect on our very special first year of operation; the incredible people we met, lessons learned, time & energies we've shared together, and wonderful classes & events we've had. Our Anniversary party was oh so sweet, and we are so appreciative of all who shared space with us to celebrate. In addition, we've also collaborated with local small businesses, supported local artists, and were humbled to donate to impactful charities (King County Vision House, South County Spay & Neuter, & even raised nearly $1000 for those impacted by the California wildfires.) We are in awe and inspired. We enter the month of love with full hearts, excited to share this warmth & passion with you all.

FEBRUARY WORKSHOPS & SPECIAL EVENTS
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST: ADVANDING HATHA YOGA WITH JESSICA
Join us for a special 2 hour class! You do not have to be "advanced" to take this class. Students will be led safely in the direction of deeper, more challenging poses to explore the next level of what they are curious about or already working on in class. Come have fun and play! We will explore back bends, spinal flexions, inversions, arm balances, and more.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND & 16TH: YOGA NIDRA WITH KEVIN
Yoga Nidra, often referred to as yogic sleep, is an immensely powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. Rest comfortably in savasana as you connect & journey through the layers of self via guided systematic meditation, breath awareness, & mental imagery. Leave with a sense of wholeness, wonder, liberation, & a profound state of relaxation.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH & SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH: YOGA ANATOMY WITH SUJI
These 2 courses compliment each other, but one is not required to take the other. Join us for one or both. The goal of each of these clinics is to gain personal empowerment & freedom in your practice & body, hone your understanding of alignment, and augment your ability to move confidently from asana to savasana.
Part 1, Saturday: Understanding our container through anatomy. Focusing on the Skeletal, Muscular, Lymphatic, & Nervous systems of the body. Recognizing how these systems work with our mobility, stability & flexibility. Playing with postures & feeling the fascial planes in our body.
Part 2, Sunday: Deeper dive into our wide web of fascia. Learn how our habits create fascial patterns which cause imbalance & strain. We can remodel the body we have created through habits & time. Interpreting the messages of our body. Explore your awareness to release the traffic jams we place on this organ of form.

SATUARDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND: CONCIOUS CONNECTED BREATHWORK TO DISSOLVE THE THINKING MIND WITH MARY CLYMER (2 of 4)
Tap into the powerful energy of your breath with this transformational breathing experience. A chance to release limitations & what no longer serves you, cultivate clarity, & reconnect with your higher self. Join Mary for an hour of embracing new possibilities. Workshop includes but it is not limited to: grounding meditation to center ourselves, deep intentional breathwork to release & recharge, and reflective journaling to set fresh intentions. Come as you are.

NEW CLASSES & SCHEDULE OFFERINGS
PRIMAL FLOW: ALTERNATING MONDAYS AT 8PM
Primal Flow incorporates Vinyasa and pairs it with a sense of play & determination! It's a full-body workout that combines asana, cardio, strength, & movement; a good way to burn calories! You'll move, work hard, try new things, all the while mastering skills you've been working on like stretching, strengthening, balance, endurance, toning, & flexibilty. Primal Flow is fast-paced & energetic style of fusion yoga, so give yourself space & grace to do your best!
YOGA & STRENGTH CONDITIONING: ALTERNATING MONDAYS AT 8PM
Focus on building strength while incorporating (optional) light weights for isometric holds, eccentric contractions, & concentric muscle movements. This class is a vigorous blend of using (optional) weights combined with traditional Hatha yoga postures, functional movement, Sculpting, & Vinyasa flows.
FOUNDATIONS OF YOGA: SUNDAYS AT 11AM
(Beginners Yoga!) Exercises & postures will be taught with functional movements for students to attempt poses. Variations & modifications for students at any level will be offered. Movements will be clearly explained with emphasis on clarity of how to move and engage your body safely & confidently.
ZOOM CLASSES
We are currently offering select scheduled classes at 6am & 12pm to have live-streaming options so that we can be here for you at home, on vacation, or wherever you may be! Please check the MindBody schedule for class options, instructions, and other details & updates. Virtual Students will be emailed a Zoom link to join class. Please remember to mute your microphones! Please note that Zoom will be cancelled if there are no in-studio sign ups. Thank you for your patience & understanding as we maneuver these new virtual endeavors!
SCHEDULE ADDITIONS
-8AM CLASS: POPULAR REQUEST! Ask and you shall receive! We've added an 8am Flow class on Wednesday mornings!
-11am Sunday classes are back!
-6am Early Bird classes with Kayla have returned! These class times are offered on Mondays & Wednesdays. We kindly request online registration or cancellation by 9pm the night before a 6am class, including Zoom. (Please Note: Zoom will be cancelled if there are no in-studio sign ups.) If there are no registrations, class will be canceled at 9PM the night before. This will help us serve our growing community with more precision. We appreciate your understanding & compliance!
-Our library full of wisdom in the forms of rentable manuals, books, CDs, & other literature and media is at your finger tips! Please feel free to browse through our literature & media and seek knowledge. Ask us how to rent and take items home for your exploration! Two week rent time, with option to re-rent. (And enjoy our complimentary tea from our tea cart!)
-The 2nd classroom is available for rent & the available schedule is starting to fill up! We utilize this intimate space for workshops & special events, and it is now open for private lessons, 1-on-1s, trainings, & other collaborations and rentable space options! Please inquire with one of the Jess's if you have any questions, suggestions, or would like to schedule something with us.
YOGA RETREATS:
Patagonia, Chile in March 2025!
Only a couple lucky spots left for this incredible once-in-a-lifetime journeys! Retreat includes everything; hotel travel accomdations, wilderness bungalow, backcountry wilderness flights, meals, yoga classes, all expedition equipment & yoga gear, wonderful community, trained outdoor guides, and Jessica Winters as your host! With emphasis on adventure, yoga, hiking, white water rafting/kayaking, swimming, fishing, mountain biking, & even horse back riding! There will also be a hot tub and onsite massage therapist, with opportunities for journaling, star gazing, music, education, safety, food, fun, awe, wonder, and breathtaking beauty & imagery. No experience necessary.
