COLD PLUNGE & BREATH WORK w/Mary

Breath Work and Cold Plunge Exposure!

April 20th, 2pm -3pm-ish, Cedar River Yoga

Breathwork has many health benefits.

  • Strengthens immune system functions
  • Releases stress hormones from the body
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Sleeping aid
  • Reduces stress symptoms of depression
  • Increased focus

Breathwork clears the mind chatter, helping you to think more clearly. Learning to use your breath to balance and calm the nervous system is an investment in your personal health and mental well-being.

Cold Plunge

Deciding to add cold exposure to your breath routine is another way to enhance the benefits. When you’re in the cold not only does your breath become your most valuable resource for staying present and calm, but it also helps you push past your own self-imposed mental and physical limitations.

cold exposure causes the body to produce hermetic stress, which serves as “good stress” as it activates genetic pathways that help in the regulation of life stressors. This increase in stress regulation decreases the body's sensitivity to stress and increases stress tolerance.

What to Expect

This workshop is designed to help guide you into a calm state by utilizing your breath in a dynamic circular way. This helps you see how much power you hold at any moment and in any situation.

Science is showing more and more that there are real mental and physical benefits to breathwork and cold exposure practices.

Mary will take you through a short introduction before guiding you through a dynamic breath work practice that will focus the mind and warm the body. You will then have the option to be safely guided into the plunge tub. Your plunge will last 2- 4 minutes as you begin to overcome fear by pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone.

There will be one last breathing exercise after the plunge to finish the experience before you go home.
